Deep Drawn Metal Stampings Information

Deep drawn metal stamping parts, regardless of their size, are characterized by the depth and length of the part, being more than 1/2 of the parts circumference.
Deep drawn metal stamping uses a stamping press consisting of a die and punch. The die mirrors the actual part and is held in place by a "blankholder". The material moves over the die while the punch forces the die into the material, forming three-dimensional rectangular, cylindrical, square, cup shaped or shell shaped deep drawn metal stampings.

The materials used for deep drawn metal stampings include steel, nickel, aluminum, copper or their alloys. The type of material and its thickness along with many other factors affect the deep drawn metal stamping process. The yield of the material determines its flow and the success of production part. Poorly constructed dies, the wrong material or to much pressure can cause defective parts with cracks or fissures in your deep drawn metal stamping part.
